No stranger to competition Alyssa Linduska has competed in grappling tournaments before, but come September 1st Alyssa makes her first walk to the Fight Card cage; and make no mistake about it, she won’t let the fight end without her hand being raised in victory.
Q: Why did you decide to start training?
A: “I always wanted to take up a combat sport and I decided to pursue it after I was done with school.”
Q: How long have you been training to fight/compete?
A: “Last year is when I decided it was time to start competing, I’ve been training for a little over two years now. This will be my first fight.”
Q: Where do you draw inspiration from?
A: “Lately I’ve been listening to this podcast called ‘The Friend Zone’, and one of the bloggers, Fran, has been so inspirational lately. The way she handles difficult situations, she lives a healthy lifestyle, and analyzes the world very honorable.”
Q: Who do you admire in MMA?
A: “In MMA I really admire Joanna (Jedrzejczyk). She is so technical, sharp, and versatile. Every time I’m training I’m consciously thinking about how the little details are so important to make it to that level.”
Q: What do you do for work?
A: “I’m currently a sales analyst for Quorn Foods, a meat alternative company. I mainly focus on forecasting and demand planning for the U.S. sales analyst by day, MMA fighter by night, lol.”
Q: Best advice you ever received?
A: “One of my coaches in high school once told me that the most important person to be honest with is yourself, and its stuck with me ever since. Whenever I’m going through something difficult I think about that advice and it helps create clarity in my head.”
Q: If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
A: “That’s a hard question, I haven’t traveled much so I would like to go anywhere, but if I had the chance to go on vacation next week, I’d like to travel around the Caribbean.”
Q: What is the most difficult thing about training camp?
A: “Not being able to eat French fries every day during the camp.”
