Hector Gerena is a product of the Gladiator Challenge, even though he won his first qualifying bout, he had to bow out of the competition due to the number of fighters. Hector is now set to make his debut with Fight Card Entertainment on September 1st.
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: “LOL, I grew up on the mean streets of Cicero, Il, and the second I hit the streets I was training [for my future fighting career]”
Q: When did you start training MMA?
A: “I started training mixed martial arts at the beginning of this year, January 2017.”
Q: Why did you decide to start training?
A: “It’s something that I’ve been wanting to do for some time now, It’s my time to shine now, and as long as I can, I will.”
Q: What do you do in your spare time?
A: “Well, I want to start training others and help the shorties make it”
Q: What UFC gym are you training at?
A: “Right now I’m training out of UFC gym South Loop with pro MMA fighter Josh Streaker.”
Q: How would you describe your fighting style?
A: “I don’t really have a description, but my coach says it’s like a technical brawler hahaha.”
Q: How do you see your fight going on September 1st?
A: “I see my fight ending with a early knock out, if he doesn’t go down nice and easy then I’ll have to beat him up for three rounds. We’ll see who wants it more.”
