Q & A with Marcus Harris
If you didn’t know any better, it would be very difficult for you to tell that Marcus Harris is a combat sports fighter given his laid-back demeanor, but don’t let that fool you. Harris is a talented competitor that is looking to finish his opponent and capture gold on November 19th.
Q: What gym do you consider your home gym?
A: “Victory Martial Arts”
Q: Why did you decide to start training/fighting?
A: “I’ve always been interested in combat sports, so one day I just walked into the gym and fell in love with it.”
Q: How long have you been training/competing?
A: “I started competing a few years ago, back then, because of work, I had to take a couple years off. I’m back now and don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.”
Q: Do you know anything about your opponent?
A: “No not really, I know he is a good fighter that’s it. I’m excited to be pushed to another level.”
Q: Outside of training/fighting, what do you do for work?
A: “I work as a conductor/engineer for the BNSF railway.”
Q: How would you describe your fighting style?
A: “Versatile and adaptive”
Q: If you were stuck on an island and only had one music CD to listen to, what would it be?
A: “That’s a tough one, when I was a kid I listened to Ludacris a lot so probably one of his first CD’s.”
Q: What is something that most people would be surprised to find out about Marcus Harris?
A: “A lot of people besides friends and family don’t know I’m a fighter. I’m so laid back that people just don’t expect it out of me.”
Q: How do see your fight ending on November 19th?
A: “Sub or TKO, I want to finish, just like I’m sure he does, but whichever way my hand will be raised.”
