Q & A with Angelo Walsh

Having started training a little later in life, Angelo Walsh has been all in ever since he discovered mixed martial arts back in 2008. Angelo is coming off a submission victory in his last time out, and on November 19th, he is looking to show everyone he is a complete fighter.

Q: Why did you decide to start fighting?

A: “Back in 2008 I saw Uriah (Faber) fighting for WEC and I thought I have what it takes. At that time, I was well over 15 street fights, lol.”

Q: What are your biggest motivators in life?

A: “My biggest motivators now are the belt and my fiancé.”

Q: What is the hardest thing you ever had to do in your life?

A: “Start fighting at a late age! Once I started, I was far behind, so it wasn’t easy at all. Some days I’d almost wanted to quit, but always stuck to it.”

Q: What gym are your currently training out of?

A: “Fumaca jiu jitsu and Dynamite kickboxing.”

Q: What do you do for work outside of training/fighting?

A: “I’m currently transitioning from a law firm consultant to a licensed realtor.”

Q: If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

A: “If I could go anywhere I would go to Thailand to get some work in at Phukket Top Team and the Hit Fifi Island.”

Q: What’s the most important thing for Angelo Walsh?

A: “Being the 135lb champ and proving I’m the superior threat in the weight class.”

Q: What are your strengths as a fighter?

A: “My wrestling, jiu jitsu, and my experience. This is my third shot at a title, I know what it takes to win.”

Q: How do you see your fight playing out November 19th?

A: “My fight ends with my hand raised! No prediction on knock out or submission, I’m just going to go where the fight takes me and show my skill set is beyond his.”
