The main event at Sacrifice was a goal reaching point for Lloyd Carter.....and last night, was his night.

Lloyd Carter, a member with Team Colon fought as the main event in his hometown of Gary, Indiana against Chicago's own, Tyrice Davis, a member with Academy of Self Defense, who put his Bantamweight title on the line.

Before the fight, aware of the many challenges that this fight could bring, both fighters were extremely focused and ready to go.

The only thing Davis said before the fight was that he felt good and "Watch and you'll see a good show".

The fight that everybody waited for so long was here...............but ended in a quick 1st Round knock out.

At the beginning of the fight, Carter and Davis were battling back to back, but in minute 1:46 of the 1st round, after dropping the defending champion, Carter quickly followed up with another strike.....and the fight was over. The referree stopped the fight.

It was that quick. Less than 2 minutes into the 1st round and FCE fans now have a New FCE Bantamweight Champion.....Lloyd Carter.

After the fight, when asked if he felt concerned going into this main event, Carter said he felt real confident going into this title fight.

"My coach and I came up with a good game plan and I stuck with the game plan and I came out with the win. Hard work, dedication, it pays off. Just stick to it, bust your ass in practice and bust your ass in the gym," said Carter.

Carter, had many fans, friends, family and team mates who came to show support for his main event title shot.

"The only way you can be or become the champ, you have to beat the champ. To be the man, you got to beat the man and tonight, I beat the man and not just by a split decision or a unanimous decision, I took it to him and by what I hear is a Knock Out," said Carter.

Davis, dissapointed with his performance, was quickly seeking a rematch.

"I lost to Lloyd Carter, my respect to him and Team Colon because I know they do their thing. I know he (Carter) worked hard, but I want a rematch as soon as possible. I don't care who it is or who I gotta go through. I want my belt back. Y'all didn't see the real Tyrice Davis tonight," said Davis after the fight.

Davis said, " I guess he just caught me with a shot, there aint no excuses or none of that stuff. I just got caught. Sometimes you just get caught with a shot."

With Davis's urge to move mountains to get a title shot again, when asked what will the FCE fans see different about Davis, he said, " Victories back to back, back to back and that belt around my waist. I just wanna know what I gotta do to get my rematch. I want my ****** rematch and that's all, that's all."

"Whatever FCE want's to do, I have no problem with giving Tyrice a title shot. As the new Bantamweight Champion for FCE, I'm not gonna duck, dodge, run or hide from nobody. Put it like this, the champ is here, 135 lb. division, the champ is here putting people on notice. Whoever wants it, they can come get it" said Carter when asked on his thoughts about a rematch with Tyrice.

After the fight, there were many mixed emotions from both fighters, their friends and family and other fighters who showed up to the event.

Reginald Brown, a member with Rebels of Destruction Bushido was present at Sacrifice and  expressed his thoughts on the Carter vs. Davis fight.

"Yeah, I saw the fight, it was alright. What I think is it showed a little skill, but the real skill is when he (Carter) gets in the ring me. Prediction: I'm gonna win, I'm gonna beat him, if its a knock out its a knock out. I'll fight him when we see him in the ring. I also want to thank FightCard for giving me the chance to fight, for a great event, to Nilo and Brian, looking forward to this next fight. Looks like its a great opponent,"said Brown after the main event.

Captain of Team Colon, Steve Colon had the following to say after Carter's victory: "It's a team thing, that's why its Team Colon."

Colon said that in their team, Carter has 3 others guys that are in his weight division that helped him train and pushed him in training, that is why the team wasn't concerned going into this fight.

"We werent worried about it at all, he had the experience, it was his moment to shine," said Colon.

When asked what is next for Carter, Colon said that Carter will definitely be defending the title, maybe in about two months.

When asked about his thoughts on a rematch with Davis, Colon said, "He (Davis) is gonna have to earn that title shot. He didn't push the fight las night. He got knocked out. We want to fight the next guy in line. Davis has to earn it and work his way to get a title shot, just like we did."

When asked what he thought about a match against Reginald Brown, Colon said "He's (Brown) 3-0, Carter has at least 12 fights, it's kind of uneven. If Brown wants a title shot, he has to prove himself and he can choose any 135 -pounder from our team."

Note: I Carlos Acevedo want to thank Steve Colon for taking the time for a quick interview. Steve Colon was at the Rosemont Hyatt Regency at a national mixed martial arts tournament. At the time of this phone interview, 6 members of Team Colon had already advanced to the semi finals.
