Fight Card Entertainment has officially announced the main event of CROSS THE LINE will be for the welterweight championship. Top contenders Danny Morales from Carlson Gracie and Matt Tierney from Olympian Center will meet on February 24th at Joe’s Sports Bar. With 5 victories, Morales has finished his fights against Quincy Smith to capitalize on the 2009 Team Fighting Challenge for PACMMA and known for his stand up and bang mentality. Tierney is probably one of the best strikers in the 170lb division and always brings an exciting fight to his undefeated record. Both fighters have recently changed camps but the goal is still the same to be the top of their game and become champion.
Tierney and Morales were recently interviewed and asked about what they thought of their match up. “I don’t have much to say about (Morales). It’s a good match up and I hope he comes to fight and give the fans a good fight. I mean it is for the title.” Tierney responded. Morales who usually plays the “bad-ass” attitude said things have changed as he grows as a fighter, “I respect (Tierney) but he will be tested in this fight from the ground to the stand-up.”

this is gunna be a badass fight! ive seen both these guys fight a few times and there is no way this fight will go all 5 rounds. im picking morales to win.
you are right about this being a badass fight but you are wrong in your pick. Tierney has the power to make this a quick fight but he will use all his skills in this one. Ground game stand up all of it.
This will absolutely be one of the better fights of any organization so far this year and for it to be a title fight is even better and to have an undefeated fighter in Tierney thickens the plot! something I noticed also is the switch to Carlson Gracie camp for Morales, therfore the expectations are alot higher now in my opinion. Can’t wait to see it as well as the other fights on this night! Best card of 2011 hands down so far!

Tierney maybe a great striker but isn’t Morales the Junior National Muay Thai Champion lol and doesn’t he hold like 5 championships in other Muay Thai events. There are good strikers in MMA then there are strikers like Danny Morales. Now he trains at Carlson Gracie so his ground game is legit to. Bad matchup for Tierney
Hey Truth, just wanted to remind you this isn’t junior league. Can’t live in the past and this is a tough kid Morales is going against. Not sure of the composition he fought before but this is a step up. This is not going to be a cake walk for him it is going to be a battle. Both fighters are good.

No need to fighter bash or bash someones school.. the fact it that danny is obviously taking his career serious enough to add aspects to his game he feels he might have trouble with against certain opponents and as for matt, the kid is a huge welterwieght first of all, he cuts a good amount for his fights and has looked at least 180 in the ring. His control of his jab is great but he also gets caught in the moment and u can get him to brawl. Danny isn’t a brawler he’s a striker with developing skills so that’s right up matts alley. No this isn’t the jr leage but danny isn’t sitting on his ass not improving and I can bet matt is in the gym right now working! This is a good fight! Can be a great fight if both come to fight and not to not lose! My question is after this fight, who’s next to step into the shark waters of the fce welterweight division?

I train with Danny and he is a monster. Truth ain’t lying. Dannys Stand up is SICK. Scary Sick. Its going to be a great fight but i got to go with my boy. He is 19 and only getting better and thats scary. He has the most potential out of any fighter in the gym hands down. As far as you Tommy, I am proud to train at Carlson Gracie, I am proud to be part of this tradition. If we didn’t produce great fighters then we wouldnt have haters like you quick to bash us. So we must be doing something right. Its obvious you do not train cause if you did you would understand the respect we all have for one another who fights. We know the blood,sweat and tears it takes to get in that cage and for that you earn your respect from your peers. Tommy you are a joke and I can put in a good word for you with the membership peeps at Carlson Gracie if you want to tain with a real team as soon as you find your balls son..i mean daughter. Matt has multiple striking features and is a complete athlete able to strike and KNOCKOUT an oppenet!
What did i tell all you fools. You all said well this isn’t Juniors..Matt has just as good striking. Danny is a BEAST!!! He will go all the way. Carlson Gracie Team is Legit. Probably the best camp around. I am making the switch for sure.
